3db SNR request

Hi. Ive been on a 3db profile for quite some time but following some issues last week (I suspect at the exchange, whole lot went off for a bit) I've bounced back to 6db.

Can you please put me back on to the 3dB profile and check my upload? I used to get 1.1mbps upload, lately its stuck at 0.8mbps. Thank you Smiley

Re: 3db SNR request

Hi MyRomeo,

The connection looks to be stable enough despite the rise in SNR so I've submitted a reset back to 3db.

That should take effect over the next 24 hours.

Fix
Thank you Adam.

Sync up from 9300 to 10600 or so and speed test up from 7.8mbps to 9.0mbps.

Any idea why downstream maxes out at 800kbps? I used to get 1100kbps with sky.

Can you please post the router stats?

Re: 3db SNR request

townman,

ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 10491 kbps 816 kbps
Line Attenuation 42.5 db 22.0 db
Noise Margin 2.9 db 5.7 db

Looks like its maxed out to me but doesn't explain why its dropped from 1.1 to 0.8.

Re: 3db SNR request

Thank you for the figures.  The US SNRM is about as low as it can be, so there's not a lot of room for it to go faster.  The DS is quite hot for a 42dB line, though the SNRM is as keen as it can be.

I would suspect that the change in US is due to a change in interleaving.

Re: 3db SNR request

Thanks again townman.

I never thought of interleaving being the cause although I guess that is possible.

Is there anything at plusnet end to change the interleaving setting?
