Using speedtester.bt.com, test results show DSL connection rate 2624kbps down,. 448 up.
IP profile says 350kbps. Actual throughput is just 326kbps
I've reported this via PN's automated fault checker, but would be interested (as a newbie to this) to hear views on what would make my connection so painfully slow.
Internal wiring: I have a five metre line fromthe BT master socket to my internal socket; and a three metre extension from that to the router. My phone is plugged into the same extension. I'm using a microfilter, and yes, I've tried another one.
Any hints please?

Hi Peter,
Your optimal setup would be to wire your router directly into your master telephone socket (via a filter) and then connect your router to your PC via ethernet cable.
Is that a possibility? I'd strongly expect your extension cabling to be the causing of your poor signal (and thus the poor IP Profile).

Thanks - yes, I could sort that out. I'll give it a go and report back.

Thanks - It's the connection rate that's important as that will determine the IP Profile.
Note that you do need to maintain a stable speed for 3-5 days before the IP Profile increases.
