21CNWBC enabled- should I switch?

Hi all- my exchange (Malvern) was 21CN enabled a good while back and the question is should I switch? My line has been stable for months on end except for a couple of blips earlier this month. Download speeds are good at 6400 ish from a 8128 sync. ( stats below)

Not quite
The switch to 21CN can't be reversed but you can go back to ADSL1 on 21CN but with your stats you wouldn't really want to as you would get about double the speed up and down (with the upstream uncapped) on ADSL2+

'Thanks Oldjim. I think its the reports of instability on ADSL2 that have concerned me. I don't want to be worse off but don't mind being on a par if I have to reverse. My other concern is about routers, and whether mine would be ok.? (DLInk 2640b, not plus net supplied}.

Hi Rob,
Although not my favourite router, the 2640B is compatible with ADSL2+. Let me know if you want me to pace the upgrade and I'll go ahead.

Before doing the upgrade it would be worth taking some time to review your broadband connection so that your setup is in the best possible shape before the 10 day BT training period starts. 
Check -
- If you can eliminate any phone extension wiring ?,
- Are all your filters ADSL2+ rated ?,
- Can you plug your gateway directly into the Master phone socket ?,
- Have you got a mains filter or UPS on your gateway's power lead ?
- Are you using a high quality (4-wire) RJ11 cable to connect your gateway to the phone socket ?

Hi JoJo, having thought about it for a while I would appreciate it if you could place the upgrade, (that is assuming it won't cost owt). My DLink has served me well for years now and would be loath to change as it happily wirelessly streaming around my place with no problems.

purleigh- many thanks for you imput.
1) No extension wiring. Wireless except for TV by ethernet. About 3 feet away.
2) router permanently in master socket
3) Will check filters, cables etc.
4) Will consider face plate as the bt one is a bit iffy (that's why I am permanently in the master

There is no reason why ADSL2+ should be unreliable, I managed 145 days uninterrupted connection before I restarted the router for personal reasons. The current connection has been up 10 days.
