The margin has always been around that figure, I have never noticed any problems over the years (apart from when there has been known issues) and the sync was always the same rate and never fluctuated. I would say for the most part the connection has been very stable.

I could try setting it down to 6dB, which would increase your sync speed - don't see why that won't hold, but there may be some fluctuation while it finds its best level. Your call.

fatdeeman: If you keep an eye on the noise margin and it never drops more than 3db below the normal level (RouterStats is great for monitoring that) take up JoJo's offer of lowering the target.

I can't remember the last time I saw any major fluctuations, even with the stormy weather weather recently it's been stuck on 14 so I would be willing to give it a go jojo!

Just checked again and it's still not budged. I'll check again later, but in the meantime if you could post the results of a BT speed test that would help confirm what I'm seeing from the supplier's systems.

I could see no difference either this morning, speed test:
Download speed achieved during test: 12592 Kbps
Acceptable range: 4000-21000 kbps
DSL connection rate : 15025 kbps down 883 kbps up
IP Profile: 13255 kbps
Upload speed achieved: 903kbps
Upstream IP profile 883 did alright there! lol
