Could you escalate this as I have Business Support on this line and have 4 customer PCs here which need an internet connection.
It is now 13 hours since fault raised.
thanks

Everything that you've said (and what CSC put on the ticket on your account) points towards an exchange problem and the fact that you've said that BT were at your DP suggests that there's an issue there that they are working on.
We can't get any escalation without a fault being raised though. I'll try to get that raised in the next half hour.

Are the engineers still poking around? Do they look thirsty? I don't think it could hurt if you asked them what they were actually doing to see if they could answer why your connection had completely died.
Unfortunately, as your Broadband ISP, we're only able to speak to Wholesale regarding your line. Because it's voice line work, you'd need to contact your telephone supplier to find out what's going on and they will be able to speak to OpenReach.
I'm sorry that we weren't able to help more.

I'm afraid Mark's not at his desk right now.
BT have replied to the fault that I raised this morning stating that they can send an engineer (a broadband one) to your premises, but if no fault is found then a charge in the region of £160 would be raised.
If BT (OpenReach) are doing work on your line currently, then this is likely to be the cause of the problem. Is this still ongoing?

I am plugged into the test socket (there are no extensions off the faceplate anyway)
I have tried 3 thompson 585 routers and changed the filters but the last speedtester result was 5 kbps.
I am going to argos now to buy a new router to totally eliminate the Thompson question
