2 different routers - unable to get DSL connection on ADSL2+?

Hi folks,
I had my new line activated on Wednesday, and I've attempted to set up 2 different routers for ADSL2+ so I can get a speed in the region of 15mb (as predicted by the line checker).
I can get a very stable connection on G.DMT, but when I select either ADSL2+ or ADSL2+AnnexM I can't get either router to get a solid light on DSL, and therefore no connection to PN.
Am I missing something obvious here, or is ADSL2+ simply not enabled on my line? The house is less than 5 years old, and I can literally throw a stone at the exchange from here.
I get a speed of 6,000kbps on mybroadbandspeed so the line doesn't seem overly noisy.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Nick

Re: 2 different routers - unable to get DSL connection on ADSL2+?

You may have been provisioned on 21CN but with ADSL1.
The weekend is possibly not the best time to get this sorted as the Digital Care team are not on duty.
Monday would be better.....unless one of the DC team knows better Wink
Have you made sure your exchange is ADSL2+ enabled?

It suggest that your line is not on ADSL2. I would suggest setting the modems to automatic, on some modems this is called multimode.

Re: 2 different routers - unable to get DSL connection on ADSL2+?

Thanks for the advice. Just switched Multimode on and it's sync'd to G.DMT automatically.
If my line is only ADSL1 I'd love an insight as to why, given the age of the building and locality to the exchange.

ADSL2+, 21CN and WBC has no relevance to the age of the house or the closeness of the exchange. It depends on whether the exchange has the equipment. This http://www.samknows.com/broadband/broadband_checker will inform you what available for your exchange.

Re: 2 different routers - unable to get DSL connection on ADSL2+?

You are connected to the Lichfield telephone exchange.
ADSL is available in your area
Your exchange is also enabled for ADSL Max services
Your exchange is also enabled for ADSL2+ services
According to BT Wholesale, your phone line should be able to support
up to 2Mbps via ADSL
7.5Mbps or greater ADSL connection via ADSL Max
15Mbps or greater via ADSL2+
You are approximately 122 metres from the exchange.

Hi nicktendo,
You can't connect on the ADSL2+ protocol because you're provided on ADSL1 on the 20CN network at the moment - I assume you're keen to upgrade? Wink
If so just advise and I'll get the order placed for you today.

Matt thanks for the response. Yep very keen - how long will the upgrade take to complete?

Order placed Smiley Should be done within 5-7 working days so the end of the week if you're lucky, start of next week if slightly less so.
