Abbreviated number:   nnnn
Port:  Phone 1 Phone 2 All
Phone 1                 "with phone plugged in."  !

Expert Configure:

Your SIP ID doesnt start with a '4' does it ?
Try dropping the 4 and just using the last six digits.

nope - your extension doesnt start with a 4 - try entering your extension number in the SIP URI

I would edit your post to remove the personal details from your settings. This is a public forum after all!

Re: speedtouch 716v5 problems connecting to voip

I did read somewhere on the forums about a problem with the latest firmware for the 716v5 but cant seem to find it now...
Maybe you could have a look as I'm off home now. Will check in later this evening to see how things are going , also maybe Puddy might spot this thread cos I'm sure he's got a 716 working.

thistlec - just to confirm, i've been able to register your account and make an outbound test call through SJPhone so the account is up and running.

Re: speedtouch 716v5 problems connecting to voip

Correct setting 8 Nov 2008
Just to confirm settings below for a speedtouch 716v5 wireless router
Points to note the last firmware update can lock both voip ports up and you may have to re-flash with an older firmware
you can backup the settings for the router should any problems come up
Home >toolbox>telephony
Config
Telephony Identity
SIP URI:   extension number abbr number
Username: As above
Password:   Huh?
Confirm Password:  Huh?
Displayname:   Anything
Abbreviated number:Anything/blank
Port: 1 or 2 or all

Expert config page
Service Configuration
Registrar:   sip.plus.net
Registrar Port:  5060
Proxy:   natproxy.plus.net
Proxy Port:   5082
Expire Time:  3600
remember to put the tick in the telephony  box when finished

The router may have a delay period before the voip light comes on so go make a cup of tea

Best bit of all I liked the most  about my speedtouch 716wlv 5 router was its 99p price plus p&p total cost less than £6 with a 90 day warranty

Re: speedtouch 716v5 problems connecting to voip

hi ian....  where i went wrong originally was with the sip URI    since this was my first venture into VOIP  i got confused with the different naming conventions between what the modem wanted and the settings notified by plusnet!   hopefully  the panel on my last post with the sucessful settings is clear as  i have used the names as notified by plusnet.       I also lioved the super low price from digidave !
