Voip faxing is it possable?

When I was telneting my speedtouch 716wl router I found some fax config folders, my neighbour wants to use his 716wl voip setup to send/receive faxes on his Plusnet account.
Does this mean fax calls on voip is possible and has anyone tried receiving/sending faxes on their voip account?
I am going to try making up a cable from the 716 voip ports to a BT slave socket thus allowing him to use his fax/printer/scanner just by plugging it to the BT slave socket on the other side of the room
I am going to try using the spare wires in his BT phone cable I buried under the floor earlier in the week

Unless your ATA/router  supports T.38 its unlikely to work, even then you would need Gradwell to support it as well and I'm not sure they do.
Have a look here for some more info http://www.3cx.com/PBX/FAX-VOIP.html

The speedtouch 716wl supports T.38 but I am unsure what to put in the set the parameters on the last line (see attach)
