VoIP Settings update

Afternoon all, we've received notification from Gradwell that a number of customers are using the address natproxy.plus.net in their settings. This will stop working on Monday 22nd April.
Please ensure your VoIP phone is set to use nat.plus.net
We're going to contact those who have connected via the natproxy address within the last 3 weeks later today.

Re: VoIP Settings update

I got the e-mail at 4:00 this afternoon and have just changed my Gigaset A580IP from natproxy to nat.plus.net. Had a few problems with "Server not accessible" messages but it's registered ok now.

Re: VoIP Settings update

Settings changed. Fantastic service! So many providers wouldn't have bothered to contact us in advance over something like this.
Thanks!

Re: VoIP Settings update

I have reset my Gigaset N300 and it worked without problems.
I attach the new settings.....per my interpretation!
Do you agree bobboulby?  I suspect you're the Gigaset specialist!

Re: VoIP Settings update

I have my Proxy server address set to "sip.plus.net" and my proxy server port set to "5060" although I'm not sure what difference that would make.

I'm flattered - long time user yes but I wouldn't call myself a specialist. There are others on this forum who understand these things much better than me Smiley

Re: VoIP Settings update

Many thanks, Bob.
Actually, I have amended my Proxy Server Port to 5060, as that's given by Plusnet.
Although I have the Registration Refresh Time set to the default 180, a value of 3600 is given by Plusnet, for what I think is the same setting......not sure about that one.
Mind you mine works OK.....at the moment!

Re: VoIP Settings update

Having checked the VOIP settings in my phone's control panel, I notice that I already have nat.plus.net as the Proxy Server Address.
However, I also have something labelled 'Outbound Proxy' which is currently showing as natproxy.plus.net. Does this need to change too? Would this be why I received the email, otherwise I don't know how I would have connected to natproxy.plus.net in the last 3 weeks?
When do I need to reboot my VOIP phone? Do I have to wait until 22nd April or can it be any time before then?

Re: VoIP Settings update

Yes, you'll need to change that to nat.plus.net too, you should be fine to reboot it as soon as you've change it to the correct address and it'll carry on working then.

Just a suggestion - could a moderator (who can therefore update all posts?) do a search for natproxy in these forums and update some prior posts please...
I don't think that I have ever given advice / instructions about settings but lots of people have over the years...
While they were updating things - what about sip.plus.net vs sip2.plus.net vs newsip.plus.net for registrar port (5060?)...
Thanks to anyone who takes the time to read and buckets more thanks to anyone who takes the action... Cheers, Old B...
