Howdo podman
I've a couple of these wee beasties that I've had for a number of years, and I can certainly vouch for them.  Two reservations:  the price seems a little steep these days, although I have to say that I'm a bit of a cheapskate and I bought mine from Hong Kong via ebay or refurbed from a supplier that's now not in business.  There are some horror stories attached to this particular market, but I'm just naturally lucky.  Grin  However, for not a lot more, you could buy a SPA3102, which would give you the ability to plug in your telephone landline to use in conjunction with VoIP.

The other reservation would be to do with the dial plan.  If you have the patience to cope with convoluted, then no problem - otherwise, invest in one of the Fritz!Box Fon offerings.  Pricey, but dead simple and really superb quality.

Re: Suggestions for voip hub/box

@podman,
If there is a possibility you may want to replace the phone in the near future then take a look at the Gigaset range of IP DECT phones.
With those you can use the same phone for landline and voip calls. You could probably pick up the bottom of the range A580IP for about £60.
There is a base station only product , the N300IP if you already have a DECT handset but I'm not sure on the compatibility with different handsets.

Used to use PAP2 device until it malfunctioned after a few years but worked well. Ebay sell them cheaper but mostly from China which is where I bought mine previously. Found an auction ending soon that may be of interest http://bit.ly/tvoS9s?
