Setting up the latest version of SJPhone

I am trying to setup my plus.net broadband phone using the latest version of SJPhone I downloaded from their website, unfortunately it is not the same version as the one shown on the support pages here, http://www.plus.net/support/phone/broadband_phone/setup/sjphonepc.shtml, and I am having trouble getting it working. The version I have got is 1.60.289a.
I have attached a screen shot of the setting I have tried to use and then entered my sip number and password when prompted, but it just says sip not registered as shown in the other screen shot.
I have also tried nat.plus.net in place of natproxy.plus.net, but that didn't work either.
Can anyone see what is wrong with it?
Thanks in advance,
Rob

Re: Setting up the latest version of SJPhone

SjPhone is getting quite old now and hasn't been updated for some while.
I would suggest trying X-Lite http://www.counterpath.com/x-lite.html or zoiper http://www.zoiper.com/
There are setup guides for both of those on the Gradwell ( who provide the PlusNet voip ) site here http://www.gradwell.com/support/kb/category.php?id=29 . Just replace the registrar and proxy with the plusnet ones.
I have also used the 3CX softphone http://www.3cx.com/VOIP/voip-phone.html successfully and there is a Gradwell guide, albeit for the mobile version here http://www.gradwell.com/support/kb/category.php?id=91.
Hope that helps.
Post back with any queries.

Re: Setting up the latest version of SJPhone

Hi,
I have been trying to get it working on my phone as well (Galaxy SII) but have had not luck with that either. I downloaded CSipSimple for android but it comes up with the error "error while registering - Proxy Authentication Required".
I used the advance wizard and have the following setting:
caller id : (the number shown under pstn number in the broadband phone control panel)
server: sip.plus.net:5060
username: the 7 digit extension number shown in bb phone control panel, I have also tried dropping the 4 at the front as one of the emails I had from support when trying to recover the details said it wasn't needed
password: the bb phone control panel password
use tcp: is unchecked
proxy: nat.plus.net:5082 and also tried natproxy.plus.net:5082
Have I got something wrong here, or is there something wrong with the account, is the password the same as the one for the broadband phone control panel.
Thanks in advance,
Rob

Not necessarily. Log into the control panel at https://voip.plus.net/ using the control panel password, then look for the phone password. You may find that the only option it offers you is a button to reset the password. Make sure you are logging on with an email address you are using - I suspect (but haven't checked) that the reset button will produce an email with a new system generated password. After security problems exacerbated by users choosing very weak passwords, I believe Gradwell now generate strong passwords for you on any change of password.
Once you have a new phone password, try again with that one.

It does look like either a password problem as Simon suggests or an account problem. I have CSipSimple working fine on an Android tablet.
