I've not yet had any success in setting up  'Empathy'  the default VOIP client.
Has anyone managed to set this up? Could anyone help with these settings?

Use proxy  nat.plus.net:5082
Authuser  7377xxx
Authdomain sip.plus.net
The above settings produve 'Authentication failed'

Re: SIP settings on Ubuntu Empathy

Yes, you need to install telepathy-sofiasip and then it will work.
I've just tried it on my 10.04 virtualbox installation.
You need 7377xxx@sip.plus.net as your username, natproxy.plus.net port 5082 in the proxy and I'm not sure about the STUN settings since I dont  need to use it with my router ( its got a SIP ALG that works ).
Hope that helps

Re: SIP settings on Ubuntu Empathy

Thanks, MisterW, could you please help a little further.  I have changed the account as suggested, but my original settings for the other parameters don't connect.  I have also tried  Dopublish on and off, UDP on and off and proxy to  ' natproxy.plus.net port 5082' and none of the options connect.
It does try but comes up with 'network error' for an5 of the options.

Re: SIP settings on Ubuntu Empathy

Delete the account and start again now that you've got telepathy-sofiasip installed
It shouldnt present those options now when you select 'sip' for the new account.
