Hardware - USB Phone

I've found a USB phone that is compatible with X-Lite and at a very low price.
The model is UP306. I haven't been able to find out who is the manufacturer. The manufactuere is Telappliant . The link to it is -
http://www.voiptalk.org/products/UP306+USB+VoIP+Phone
Has anyone had experience of it and how it performs? Huh
I've got a better (more expensive) model coming but I thought that I could use this one as a second or backup handset.
Thanks
Ray

Re: Hardware - USB Phone

Using the option realy makes it just a headset/microphone.
You would be better off using a linksys adapter or a grandstream phone or a cordless dect phone i.e a siemens 460ip phone you plug them in to a router port doing this means you dont need to have your computer on to make or receive calls.
Prices start from £25

Re: Hardware - USB Phone

If you want a cheap and cheerful USB phone i use one of these http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Electronics/Phones/VoIP+Phone+USB+Skype-Use+-+Silver?productId=17584
on my laptop. It's a yealink p1k and you can get drivers for Sjphone and x-lite from here http://www.yealink.com/en/download.asp?tag=others
With Sjphone it you can use the display and keyboard just like a normal phone and I guess X-lite is the same although I never tried it.
These phones and clones thereof are widely available from most suppliers so you could probably pick one
up quite easily.

Re: Hardware - USB Phone

The USB phone I had was a P1K but I've now installed a Grandstream 101 it it works a treat and plugging direct into the LAN is a definite advantage.
Thanks for all the helpful replies.
