Friday August 1st VoIP Problems

Good morning. You may get the message that you are running out of or have run out of credit. It's down to a problem with our accounts payable provider incorrectly applying a credit on our account. Our VoIP supplier has been asked to ensure that calls are not blocked while we sort this out.

Re: Friday August 1st VoIP Problems

Has this problem reared its ugly head again?
Seems to be too much of a coincidence that it's the 1st of the month and yet again my Plusnet VoIP is unable to make outgoing calls, but incoming still works.
Anybody else seeing this?

Thanks for your replies; seems to confirm my suspicions.  Roll eyes
I forgot to mention I'd also received the email (timed at 15:33)

Re: Friday August 1st VoIP Problems

I also have been unable to make calls today, with the reason given as 'credit'. I have received no e-mail, and do have ample credit.
This is almost a duplicate of last year's problem (http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,121907.0.html), except that I was able to make calls on Christmas Day this year.

It's not your credit that's the issue, but PN's Smiley

Controversial thought - Perhaps it's time for PN to abandon it's legacy VOIP product completely and simply migrate customers over to Gradwell?  It does seem as if their heart isn't really in it  Roll eyes

I, for one, should be sorry to see it go. I did look at Gradwell once, and if I remember rightly they were vastly more expensive.
I understand that PN still offer VoIP to business customers, and one would think that would motivate them to keep it working (businessmen are on holiday at the moment, I know, and likely have not suffered from this fault).
The legacy residential product is one of the anchors that ties me to PlusNet. If I were to move, I should have to find a replacement. From PlusNet's point of view, the revenue from VoIP must be derisory – but retaining old customers is not. We pay full rates, not introductory discounted ones, and PN do not have to splash out on TV advertising to recruit us. All they have to do is keep our products working.  Smiley

Re: Friday August 1st VoIP Problems

Hi all, really sorry about this. I'll get straight onto Gradwell as soon as I get to the office. I'll also nudge the Customer Relations guys about a service status post.
