17/11/08 Voip problems

I woke up this morning to find my voip service down anybody else got the same problem?
Plusnet & Gradwell are not a ware of any problems  (time 5:10am)
web and e-mail working fine

problem fixed by Gradwell 8:10am

Thanks go to Gradwell its a shame plusnet always blame the end users equipment.
Had been told no problems at all by cs (plusnet) rep this morning when I called the problem in!!!

Yes, Puddy, I didn't have the connection this morning either.
The connection seems to been a bit iffy for a day or two.

My VoiP is off again this morning, is your's Puddy?  I've not tried an adapter-restart yet.

Yes it down again.
Have reported it to Gradwell and they are working on a permanent  fix
re problem the server we connect to is refusing connections

Hi guys,
I'll check with the CSC and see if they have seen an increase in VoIP Faults - I haven't heard of anything myself.

My VoIP went off about 45 minutes ago but was back on again after about 15 minutes. Mind you, there was no notification (yes, the box is ticked).

Add me to the list with this problem. Have had to reboot my adapter 4 times in the last 48 hours to regain connection, but I do see a notification.  Cheesy

Yes, I noticed mine was down around 9am - I don't know when it went down.
It wouldn't re-register then (I tried a couple of different clients).
My main client has now managed to register again.

I think it was right for our CSC analysts to assume that there may of been an equipment failure here. We had didnt seem to have any influx in reports of failures prior to Gradwell announcing their service status. Thanks goes to puddy for recognising that there was a genuine fault - gradwell have solved the problem and as a consequence need to rebuild some sql servers to ensure that the problem is erradicated completely. Suspect that the portal issues might be related to this. Wouldn't be surprised if the sql server rebuild has caused some of the login issues announced on the latest service status.

I have just been told my equipment must be at fault because according to Plus CSC  nobody apart from me has had this problem  Date 22/11/08
So the old plusnet back again remember the one that lies and at all times tell the customer he's the only one with the problem and it must be his/her equipment at fault.
I have told them on my ticket the responce from gradwell that stated the problem 4 times was down to their servr refusing connections and plusnet still blame me

I feel that plusnets csc agents tend to be out of their depth with VoIP service.
To stop this happening again would it be possible for plusnet to setup their own VoIP telephone so that a test call could be made to see if the VoIP service was up or down?
I have since found out that Gradwell do not have a 24 hour support line so I could only report a fault direct with them after 8am.  But I always phone plusnet to let them know there is a problem with VoIP service.  I hope in future Plusnet will not take my calls on deaf ears and act on it.  I tried to tell the csc agent that I have more than 1 phone connected and I did tell them it would be very unusual for all phones to fail at the same time.
Perhaps the blame the end user at all time’s culture within  Plusnet should be changed its very poor customer service! 
It only takes 1 caller to report a problem
