why does d'stream margin need a reboot to e-set it

My downstream margin generally sits at 20 to 26 which is fantastic news for upto 8mb speeds. Sometimes however it drops to below 15. if I hard reboot the router comes back on at the higher levels again. Line attenuation 44.

1. Why does a re-boot make the difference?
2. what is happening to reduce it that simple hard reboot will fix.

it could be just getting misread by the router. some rotuers arnt calibrated very well. I wouldnt worry about it.

Btw just because ur SNR is 20~26 doesnt mean u will get 8Mbit.

Most people will only see around 6mbit. I i think u'll be in around hte 6mbit mark if ur a 2mbit user already
