Since upgrading from 512k to 2mb I get frequent disconnections, probably due to the fact that I have to use an extension from the master socket and so have some signal noise/loss. As my router is quite an old one I am considering buying a newer one. Will I be throwing money away or are newer routers less sensitive to line noise? Also do newer routers have auto reconnection, at the moment I have to turn off the router, wait 30secs and then power up (the connection always comes back on). Having a router that detects the connection has dropped and automatically looks for sync would help. The router I am considering is the Westell ProLine 6000 ADSL router . I've just lost my connection whilst writing this. I noticed that the CD and ACT LEDs were flashing. The LNK and LAN stayed steady.
