Traceroute Results: View Traceroutes
Traceroute Time (24 Hour): 23:09 to 23:17
Traceroute Duration: 8 minutes
Traceroute Packet Size: 40 bytes
Exchange: FINCHLEY
Problem: Permanently Slow Data Transfer (Everything is slow)
Other Problem Experienced: The speedtest results are from today. Two weeks ago I had results of 223. Three months ago results of 479.
Duration of Problem: More than 2 weeks
Minimum Speed Achieved On PlusNet Speedtest: 65 kbps
Maximum Speed Achieved On PlusNet Speedtest: 99 kbps
Average Speed Achieved On PlusNet Speedtest: 82 kbps
Account: ADSL Home (Self Install) - 512kb (50:1)
IP Block Size: Single (default)
Ticket Number: None
Additional Information: This has been a long-standing problem. BT/yourselves originally blamed it on equipment/installation. During the last year EVERY cable has been checked/replaced by BT - including cable from outside to the street! Router has been reconfigured by the manufacturer and new computer purchased! In Sept, when I got VERY ANGRY BT finally admitted a line problem - they made fixes and for 3 months transfer was EXCELLENT. Now it has deteriorated again to virtually NOTHING. When are these idiots going to pull their finger outHuh

speed problems

Hi There,

This will need logging with BT as a recurrent fault. If you can put the details you have posted here into a ticket the support team will be able to sort this out for you.

Regards,

Ian

speed problems

That looks normal to me for 512k ADSL. If that is PlusNets speed test it does not include the protocol/transmission data overhead - try the ADSLguide speed test for that.

Variations will always occur during testing due to contension, line conditions etc.

What are you expecting?
