site access problem

I was ftp'ing to a server when it lost connection. Since then I have been unable to connect to the server via ftp or the interent. Can see the web site at work but not from either of my home computers.

Have had a ticket in since 27th july and had one answer but now waiting for aother response!!

The owner of the server say's he isn't blocking my ip, and I still can't connect even if I disable the firewall at my end.

I need to connect ot this server from home. Any ideas?Huh

Have you tried both passive and active FTP connections? There should be a setting in your FTP client to select this.

Also try a different FTP client.

Good point about passive/active especially if a local firewall has been updated or installed. You could also do a trace command from a the command prompt type in 'tracert ftp server address' where ideally the ftp server address is an ip so that dns is eliminated.
