"Access denied by access control list" - help!

Hey all, our internet just got activated today. We're using the BT Voyager 2110-D8 wireless ADSL router. My laptop connected first time, no problems. My friends computer on the other hand...gives me:

"Access denied by access control list"

whenever we try and open a web page on it. I checked the advanced settings on the router to see if access control was enabled, but it's not...

Any ideas what's going on? If I do have to add his computer to the access list (even though the list is supposedly disabled) where abouts in windows can I find the MAC address of his adapter? I've looked everywhere and can't see it.

Um, I think that's it. I have WEP enabled, if that's a useful piece of information!

Thanks alot,

- Paul

This error is typical of proxy settings in the web-browser.

How to change the settings depends on the browser.

In IE
1: Goto the Tools menu
2: Select Internet Options
3: Open the connection tab
4: Click the LAN Settings button
5: Deselect the top 3 check boxes
This will auto-disable the 4th
6: Click OK on the 2 screens.
7: Restart Internet Explorer

In Firefox
1: Goto the Tools menu
2: Select Options
3: Goto the General config item
4: Click the Connection Settings button
5: Select Direct Connection To The Internet
6: Click OK on the 2 screens
7: Restart Firefox
