problem logging on

when i start my pc i cannot access broadband. i have a line but i cannot download. only when i reset and run scandisc do i get a connection . scandisc advises that there is a problem with the boot area but this can be fixed by scandisc. when i reboot a new window opens showing a log onto network. i enter my password and i can download. i am sure this is something simple but i need help. :? :? :? :?

Hi, sounds like your hard drive is a little flakey, windows scandisk is not the best prog in the world i`m sorry to say. Find out the make of your hard drive from the bios, go to the manufactures website & download their disk management software & run it. This should remap any poor sectors so that they are not accessible. Maybe you should consider a new drive?
If I don`t have a connection I run command (dos promt) & use ipconfig /renew
