Are you noticing your router / modem reporting higher attenuation than normal the last 2-3 days? Mine is hitting 59db at times when its normally 48-51db.

Hi,

That area wasn't affected by the Manchester fire, although some places in Scotland were. You might just find that it's the local conditions, have had a lot of rain recently?

well there staying higher than normal, even if there was bad weather which there hasn't been any in the last 5 days. But BT did work on my exchange last week and wondering if this is related.

It could be related, although an increase in line loss is more likely going to be something specific to your line. If it's actually causing a problem we can raise it as a fault.
