mtu & stability

Date Speed Achieved (kbps) Can anyone tell me if tweaking the mtu affects stability as you can see I get wildly fluctuting speeds and not a very stable connection. I am using a Kcorp Lifestyle 5810 router.

mtu & stability

MTU changes will only affect throughput speeds (as will the RWIN value in windows) as it determins the size of data packets being sent. It has not effect on stability of yur connection.

The differences in the speeds you are seeing can have many causes, from contention at the exchange to the speed testers themselves failing - speed tests are by their nature unreliable - to differing sync rates on MaxDSL/LLU to varying stable rate/data rate figures. Often its a combination of many factors which makes identifying the cause very difficult.
