Steve,
I have had the very same problem the last few days. Prior to this I have had many moths service with Plusnet without this problem..
Don't know why it does it.

I kept loosing connection all the time for nearly two weeks.

I found out if you have a VIA chipset on your motherboard this can cause a power managemnt problem as USB Modems take a lot of power.

I had to install a PCI USB Card, since then ive had no disconnection problems!

Hope this helps

Try unplugging any other USB devices you have and see if it fixes it.
Or try using a powered USB hub.

you should be OK buying any moderate USB 1 or 2 card. Take a trip to PC world - they are all usually OK.

Hope this sorts your problem.

(I always feel you are better paying a couple of quid extra over the cheap & nasty stuff whatever you are buying!)

Hope this sorts your problem.
