hi there

i hope someone can help.

i have recently bought a belkin adsl modem and i have it all connected up great, but every so often i get a message that says the network cable has been disconnected (when it physically hasn't) and then it takes a few more seconds to log back on again and then its fine.

why does this happenHuh

thanks in advance

This may happen if your ADSL modem reboots for whatever reason. This means the electrical connection rather than the physical connection is broken which Windows will see the same as a cable being disconnected.

You need to discover why your modem keeps rebooting. Maybe check it's logs if there is any. Also can yu specify the full makemand model and how you connect to your PC (USB or Ethernet).

hi there

thanks for the reply but the power light on the modem is the only light that stays on. i think having read the forum i should have added my problem to the topic below mine. it sounds like a common problem unfortunately.

the modem is a belkin F5D7630-4A if this helps
