Hi,

I have recently noticed that our broadband connection has got pretty slow, so carried out the plus net speed test, which showed a speek of 240 kbps. I then used the BT speed test which gave the results below. Does this look right?

Doe sit mean that we have a maxiumum connection speed of 250kbps?

Any thoughts appreciated.

IP profile for your line is - 250 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 2144 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 220 kbps

If you wish to discuss these results please contact your ISP.

Unfortunately that is the case - your line rate has been dropped by the BRAS in your local exchange. This is usually indicative of a drop in service and may mean the start of an intermittent connection problem - please check your logs and if this is the case you can raise a fault to us at http://faults.plus.net.

If your line isn't dropping regularly you should find that the speed uplifts itself again after 3 days steady service.

Thanks for the quick response. We are using a BT voyager 205 ADSL router, and as far as I can tell it does not keep an logs on connections.

All I can see is that our connection has been up for 13 hours, which means it must have disconnected during the night at some point.

I'll keep an eye on it, and let you know if I have any problems

Thanks
