Chris,

Have you tried deleting your temporary internet files. in IE it's under tools -> internet Options -> Temporary Inernet Files - Delete Files.

This may be getting a bit full ?

Also do you have lots of hard drive space spare ?

Chris,

I've had exactly the same problem but only since converting to Broadband. I updated just about everything, drivers, software, the lot. My system is a PIII, 450mhz, with 315mb RAM on Win98.

Eventually, on the recommendation of PlusNet via a problem ticket, I installed Netscape 7 and have not had the fault since. I have imported all my address books and mail etc and got rid of IE6 and OE6.

Give it a try, you don't have to remove IE if you don't want but your symptoms are identical to mine a few weeks ago.

It is certainly an idea to ty a different browser, this will enable you to rule out the most likely cause of the problem - IE.

Personally I like Opera, from www.opera.com...

Hi There,

I'm sorry if you feel we have been unhelpful. I hope that if you think about it you would agree that the Support team should concentrate on supporting our products, but your PC Manufacturer should support your PC and your software vendor should support your software.

The fact is that the above is not a problem with the connection we provide. We do have to draw the line about what we can support and we will always do our best (in fact more than many ISPs) to offer help above and beyond our call. The alternative to this would be that we increase our support remit. However this would mean increasing the size of the support team, to which the only outcome would be an increase in the subscriptions we charge customers or a removal of investment from another area of the business.

Sorry if I sound a bit defensive - We are here to help and we do our best but sometimes it can be hard for people on our side of the fence to accept that we have to support all of the problems which result from the corner cutting adopted by PC hardware and software manufacturers!
