from binatone 500 to netgear dg834uk

i am changing to a netgear dg834 from the binatone 500.
do i simply remove binatone 500 programme via add or remove in control panel. remove binatone from connections (bt line & usb port). connect dg834 to bt line & lan (10/100) port, making sure its ok in device manager first. . insert setup cd and follow prompts. what info do i need at hand, such as p/word etc., to input during installation.

Hi,

I would first disconnect your modem from the USB slot but do nothing else as you might need to use it if you have any problems !!!!

Next connect your dg834 using the adsl cable provided to your adsl socket. You will then need to run a network cable from your PC/Laptop to the dg834. Power everything on and follow the instructions in the box about setting up your internet login details. It should then just work after a quick reboot of the Dg834.

If all is well you can uninstall all the programs for your modem and off you go. Wireless is easy to configure as well if you read the instructions. If you have any problems post them here and connect using the USB modem until you have got the dg834 working properly.
