confused about speeds

bt speed test is consistantly as below
Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
IP profile for your line is - 7000 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 8096 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 1913 kbps

where bt says IP profile for your line is - 7000 kbps
plusnet highspeed says IP profile for your line is 2000 kbps
my router says and is constant at 8096 448

can any one explain what all this means please?

Looks like this

plusnet highspeed says IP profile for your line is 2000 kbps

is set incorrectly. I've corrected this for you now, you may need to disconnect and reconnect for the change I've made to take effect but should then see an increase in speed.

The speed your router reports is your sync speed (8096), the BT Wholesale equipment generates delta reports based on this to alter your IP profile (7000), your throughput (1913) will never be above the IP profile speed.

confused about speeds

When I go to connection settings it says

Your current broadband speed is 500 Kbps

It used to say 1,000Kbps.

I'm on DSL Max.
