Netgear WGR614

http://www.netgear.co.uk/html/prod_wireless_802_11_g_wgr614.htm

The DG814M (the 11b predecessor) is a marvellous piece of kit, so I assume the new one will be too!

looking at the spec sheet it appears that it requires an ethernet capable modem:-

System Requirements
• Broadband (cable, DSL) Internet service and modem with Ethernet connection

I've been looking for one aswell, but there doesn't seem to be anything as of
yet. There are some well priced bundles on offer and there is an advantage
of having the modem and transmitter split from each other eg. less interference,
plus they dont have to share the same transformer.

Hi,

Ebuyer seem to have a few that you may be interested in. For example:

D-link Di-624 802.11g

http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=4...

or

Linksys Wireless-G 54mbps Broadband Router

http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=4...

I've not used one myself, but the Linksys has some good reviews on the site from people who have purchased it.

I believe both of these routers are for DSL(Cable), not ADSL. If it's ADSL you have, then they won't work Sad

I've been looking for the same device, but as of yet, haven't found one.

ADSL is DSL... it's just a type of DSL. AFAIK There is no such thing as "DSL" on its own; it's always preceded by something else i.e. "A", "RA", "U", "S", "H", "V", "I", "C".

I completely agree ADSL is a type of xDSL.

What I was trying to say is the routers listed are cable routers, not ADSL.

Hi navadadynamics,
If your looking for a wireless g router then both those product will work with ADSL the descriptions with these products can be misleading
as their main market is the US. In addition to them consider the one mentioned from Netgear plus there are a few more.
With them you will need a modem, D Link do an ethernet based one
Netgear and Linksys do a combined ethernet and USB unit, although I havn't
found a UK supplier for the Linksys modem which I looked at.
It's important to find a UK based supplier as (hopefully) the unit's will
have been set up correctly to work with ADSL/PPPOA.
Hope this helps.

Wireless Routers

How about the BT Voyager 2000 or their Home Network one called the 1200, I believe, which can be upgraded to wireless.

Thanks aleca for that.

I may have mis-understood kingnerk's request. I thought he was after a combined router/modem/wireless unit.

As you say, the products listed will work with and ADSL modem, I just thought he was looking for an all in one unit. They do exits for 11/22mb units, just not 54g.
