RE: cant browse

Hi there,

PlusNet is always having problems.
DNS loss is part of it, you will have to get used to that.

But in the meantime you can change your DNS servers from PlusNet over to BT and your web pages will display.

PlusNet DNS Servers:

212.159.11.150
212.159.13.150

BT DNS Servers:

213.120.62.100
213.120.62.101

Don't know if it's really allowed, but i do it, as im tired of the PlusNet DNS splitting.
and paying £23.99 for it,
so i so no harm in changing to BT DNS.
afteral you are paying and you get no compensation on here when the service fails.

See my post from last week if you don't know how to change the servers.
or post back here, and i'll retype it all out.

good luck!

RE: cant browse

PS>
I really should have asked you first,
did you set PlusNet's DNS server IP's on your IE internet options?.

If not, then do that now.
click internet option, find PlusNet dial connection for your ADSL modem, onece you find it, right click on it, highlight properties, find the Networking tab.

Once there you can see many options, click the properties button (not tab) and this should bring up a box to let you enter your PlusNet IP address, enter it, by selecting static IP number.

Then below that, you will see DNS servers.
check the box, then enter PlusNet DNS servers.

212.159.11.150
212.159.13.150

Then click apply. and disconnect,
you have to disconnect each time you make a chnge to your connection.

The reconnect, try thr webpages again.
if it still fails.. then enter the BT DNS numbers until PlusNet sort it out.

BT DNS Servers:

213.120.62.100
213.120.62.101

And again remember to disconnect after you make changes then reconnect again to make them change.

I find the BT DNS works great.. sometimes better than PlusNet Shocked)
Don't ask me why.. it just does Tongue

Good luck people.

RE: cant browse

Forget to say..
if you can't find your PlusNet static Ip number,
then connect to my web server.
http://212.159.68.178 or http://dolan.plus.com

the first page will tell you what your IP number is Smiley

I use server side includes on .shtml for index page.
