hi folk's
anyone got any tips on speeding up my web browsing?

i used my brother inlaws pc with 1/2 meg blueyonder line and found the browsing much faster.

i've tried changing the mtu to 1458 & 1500 but neither seem to make a difference.
our download speeds are virtually the same so the conection is OK.

i've also tweaked with DR TCP from dsl reports ?
they show no faults on there tweak test

So what's the problem Huh??

any comments welcome

thanks
Mark

This is related to the differance in peering arrangments.

You have to remember that +Net are not BlueYonder and ADSL is not cable.

They are both two differently connected technologies, with two different connection points to the internet.

You may weel see faster speeds to sites than your friend does.

i just thoght maybe my pc was not configured correctly or there was some fine tuning that could be done to improve the browsing.

I have found that changing your DNS server can speed up or slow down general browsing.

I.m using 212.159.13.49 and212.159.13.50

I believe there were originally other DNS servers.

These are the best DNS entries to use, there are others available but they are less reliable.
