adsl binaton starter package and Mandrake 9

Hello,
who has got the adsl binaton starter package and Mandrake 9
connectivity working?
I have not told mandrake about the usb modem yet.
There is an 56kbit ISA slot modem and the wizzard starts
from a copy of the ppp0 stuff regarding that.
-How do I tell Mandrake about that modem?
-How can I use the rpm from the installation disk (i don't have the
the rpm source tree installed)

The pack works fine under WInXP.

How can I wire up a single 486IBM PC to have to screens
into the internet
-under WinXP (second box runs win95)
-under Mandrake (second box runs redhat 7 (or older?))

any colourful mix of the two.

Would it not be nice to have a detailed and user friendly
How-To file decribing the basics of the above?

Happy Christmas!

Bernd.

As far as i know there are no drivers for the
binatone 500 for any flavour of linux, Binatone have said they will be updating
the product to include redhat but when i dont
know, i think the closest you will find are some ECI drivers
that i had heard might work as the eci uses the same globespan virata
quasar I chipset as the 500 but you will have to get your hands
dirty trying to code them in, i cant give you a link for them at the moment but
they are available in the public domain

Having googled, it seems the rpm is for Red Hat., but you may be able to use it for Mandrake.

Try www.mandrakeusers.org - they're very helpful. Smiley
