Worried

The day my MaxDSL was activated I was getting speeds of around 4-5Mbps.

I've been checking the speed regularly to see what happens and I have had averages of 3.5 to 4.5 Mbps with the odd peak at almost 6Mbps and the occasional low of about 1.3Mbps

Today, day 8, my speed this morning was in the region of 5.7 to 5.9 but since about 1pm it has struggled to get above 1.5 with reports as low of 777Kbps.

I have just checked my Att which is 2 and my SNR, 13.5. (BTW what is the remote ATT and SNR which are 4.5 and 21 respectively?).

I am now worried that my speed will eventually be poor even though a BTWholesale check indicates I should be able to get up to 6.5Mbps.

Can anyone advise as to what may be happening.

Cheers

P.S. MY Upload speed remains between 371 & 384 inc. I have always Synced at 8128 & 448

Worried

From around 23:00 my speed slowly begun to increase and I am getting reports of around 5.3 to 5.6Mbps.

Perhaps this was due to contention during this afternoon/evenig period?

Worried

As you can see from my test results this seems to be fairly common and ive got very good line stats and am not too far from the exchange

its because maxdsl is very rate adaptive or so im told so dont worry just yet unless you start to see very low speeds over a period of time

Worried

My speed till about 4:30 pm today was up in the 5Mbps and now has dropped dramatically - shoing around 1500Kbps.

My peak usage (Option 2) so far this month is 4.18GB so I am not on any restrictions.

What's the possibilty of bandwidth purposely being restricted during the peak hours irrespective of peak usage?

I have looked at my Sync rate again on my SAR 130 and it is 8128 Down and 448 Up.

But I did notice that the items for eth-0 & ppp-0 marked:
RIP, DHCP Relay, DHCP Client, DHCP Server, IGMP

all have red X's against them.

Is this normal? - I have never deleved into the workings of the Router except for Port Forwarding.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers
