What's happened to my speeds....

Just got this ticket from PlusNet because i complained about my speeds. My speeds have NEVER reached the 2mb limit ever since i got upgraded, and the VP exchange is green. The connection still says 2mb, but the downloading of websites doesn't feel 2mb, so i ran a few BTspeed tests and low and behold, my speeds were actually still 1mb. PlusNet say they have confirmed i am on a 2mb line, so what can i do?....

If you are being throttled at Plusnet's end, then you should still get full 2Mb speed on the BT Speedtester. The OP isn't.

What's happened to my speeds....

Sorry, my mistake then. How does the BT speed tester work to tell you a different speed to you are actually achieving beacause PN are throttling you then?

When you connect to the BT Speedtester you are connecting directly to BT's network and bypassing Plusnet.

So you will get the full speed of the line you connect with.

This was the first test i did after my 512 to 2mb upgrade, BT reported that i was capable of 2mb speeds without a problem yet when i connected back through the Plusnet network i was only getting 512k speeds, made a quick call to Plusnet regarding this and the support bod said no problem give it 15 mins then reboot my router.
This fixed my problem.

What's happened to my speeds....

well when i connected to the BT speed checker, i only got speeds in excess of 1MB connection, not two. So i guess my speed isnt being throttled, but there is a problem with BT on my end. Also, got a ticket back reporting on the BT problem and it said:
[Assigned : Case incorrectly handled by BT, back with them on 1-5SKLNB / 01365446.]

I thought it was plusnet, whereas now i think differently.
