What browser do you use?

Let me guess....Internet Explorer for most people.

I'm a firm believer in choice which is why I use Mozilla. It's like what linux represents to windows, choice and therefore a threat hehe.

It's mostly 'under-the-hood' reasons that I like it better for example, it can utilise the internet cache better and it comes with a built-in pop-up/images/cookie stopper (or manager as its properly called), something IE never conceived hehe.

more choice = more competition = progress = good for the end-users Smiley

I am considering moving back to opera (and paying for it this time), after hell with IE.

I have allready moved to "The Bat!" from OExpress.

Memories of Opera. Fast, Efficient, better on the eye when looking at the taskbar and the ability to quickly use your own style sheet for printing and making text a little more pleasing. Yes it sounds like marketing material, but it happens to be true for once.

RE: What browser do you use?

i'm currently using Mozilla 1.3b - after i've spent a while with it organising my bookmarks into nice and tidy 'drop-down' groups under the "personal bar" at the top and found a nice theme like once called "Orbit 3+". Everything is nice and dandy and it's purely subjective but the way that Mozilla renders downloaded assets to a page is more 'broadband like' i.e. it's done progressively bottom-up rather than top-down with IE.

Here's something I found recently...a practice website i made recently at:

http://www.sternhouse.plus.com/webdesign/footprint_design/v1.2/

...is actually displayed better in Mozilla then IE. I'm talking specifically about how the cache is re-used which that site relies on. The initial download of the index.html downloads all the images needed for the whole website, every other html section just downloads the text. The problem with IE is that for every other section where all images are simply re-used from the cache, the screen flickers for a second when IE decides what it's doing and in mozilla the process to re-use the cache is transparent to the user hence the site actually feels more professional in that way. I'm a firm believer in choice which is why I use IE6.

I don't like any of the other browsers.

Whatever turns you on :bounce:

Just remember what "choice" represents, it represents competition to make a better browser or whatever so it's all good for the end-user.

90% of users have been nurtured into liking and using Microsoft products almost excusively which just proves their dominance and monopoly in the market place.

RE: What browser do you use?

Opera 6 for me. I'll upgrade to Opera 7 as soon as I can be sure that it's stable.

Trouble is, Plusnet isn't necessarily Opera-friendly .....

Maybe the web developers for the Plusnet portal should join the "viewable with any browser" campaign and check compatibility, see these sites:
