WAN LAN or ATM

no experience with PCI modems but I would have thought ATM seeing as adsl uses PPPoA (i.e. ppp over ATM)...

WAN LAN or ATM

Hmm.... my ADSL PCI modem required me to select WAN drivers for it to work, seeing as the internet is a kind of (very large) WAN.

It's pot luck unless you are able to obtain the manual.

WAN sounds correct, seeing as the internet/ADSL network is a WAN.

ATM sounds correct too.

However, both have very different meanings, and could both relate to the different protocols.

This isn't somthing that could easily be guessed. Only documentation can distinguish the different between the two.

WAN LAN or ATM

I'd suggest trying ATM first. The WAN option may well be PPPoE.

So try ATM, if it doesnt work you can always unistall and reinstall it as WAN.
