Super sonic connection as promised. after being so slow for months.. it's great to have this so good again.

Sorry if you're still having problems, i know what it feels like believe me.
But my connection hasn't been this great since way back nearly in April when i signed up.

Just being honest and telling the truth.

Hello Lyndon,

Yes when i joined ADSL in April 02 it was really good, fast up and down.
but as we moved into summer it become very slow, especially on the uploads for me.

Maybe because of all numbers of people who singed up. there was lots of problems including connecting problems aswell as speed.
and a Fat pipe was installed (the 2nd one) to help the problems. since then a 3rd has been installed.

I think most of my time here there was a problem every second week with connection.

But everything seems great now.
just hope it stays this way, and everyone else gets sorted soon too. Smiley

This is the best i have seen it in a long time my end.

Your download speed : 117490 bps, or 117 kbps.
A 14.3 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 122492 bps, or 122 kbps.
Your connection hardly qualified as broadband, at least in that test, in fact we pissed ourselves laughing are you with plusnet by any chance

Cool Jason,

Im on the Plusdls.net realm so mine isnt getting done until Wednesday Cry. I hope the speeds are as good as you say. However, ive just heard from someone that is on the Plus.net realm and his ADSL is still "slow as hell" even AFTER the upgrade.

I think it may be a seperate problem or maybe a problem at his end.

RE: Upgrade Tests for PlusNet (thanks bob)

Ged and Dave,
I'm sorry to hear that your connections are still bad.

Everything this end has been great since i loged in first @ 6.35am this morning. and i logged off.
and came back tonight and it is still the same.

If it helps i'm on the Cumbernauld exchange,
which is a city 15 miles from and right in the middle of the path between 'Glasgow' and 'Edinburgh' or 'Glasgow' and 'Stirling' depening which way you travel.

I have no idea if that makes a difference.
my location, all i can say is it was bad before, and it's now really fast again.
I hope the next upgrade for Wednesday sorts you out Dave.

As for the other person you know on my realm who still has problems, maybe it might have to do with whe at i said above?
your location? and how the connection gets to PlusNet in Sheffield (the route) not sure m8.

When i logged on this morning @ 6.35am and gave my report on this forum, all the other users who came on after me around 7am all reported good connections and a PlusNet CSC guy reported back they are monitoring it, and over the weekend too from the customers end. (he was logged in as a customer)

So i really don't understand it

Ged don't be nasty.

Thats what i hate about these forums.
NO im not an employee of PlusNet Technoligies.
I'd like to be, but i live far away from Sheffield.

I'm just a customer being honest m8, don't take it out on me.

My connection does qualify as broadband.
don't be so bitter man.

Every now and then, around 3am i hit 50kB/s for few hours. I'm on plus.net realm, London Poplar exchange. Read in my e-mail today my connection was fixed. If anything it got worse...

Ok Ged i see that now. i'm Sorry!.
Some folk on here are angry, as we all were the other week. must be a nightmare still having a poor connection right now.
I know people hardly want to surf web pages, they want to do games, or things that require the bandwidth they signed up for, so it's very unfair for the users left out.

Btw i tried to connect when i booted up.. it wouldnt let me on.
Could not connect. i had to reboot again to get on today. I catually thought it was messed up again.
then again you never know it very well might mess up again.

Fingers crossed for the users still with no decent connections.. hope PlusNet get you sorted very soon, again it's a nightmare you're left like this over the weekend while other users are working.
I understand how you must be feeling.
I would be joining you right now..shouting.
Both realms should have been fixed on same night, as it's very unfair to other DSL users.

RE: Upgrade Tests for PlusNet (thanks bob)

This seems to be the running average - not much above, but not much below (+-1Kbps).

Downstream 471 Kbps (58.9 KB/sec) 541 Kbps (inc. overheads)
Upstream 245 Kbps (30.6 KB/sec) 281 Kbps (inc. overheads)

Can't complain at that!
