Unable to FTP outside of PlusNet

Hi,

I'm unable to make an FTP connection to a server that resides outside of the PlusNet connection. I always recieve a timeout when my client sends the PASV command. It was working just 3 days ago and nothing has been changed since that date. I have tried SmartFTP, Internet Explorer and have opened a telnet connection to various servers. The only servers I can connect to are PlusNet's cgi and www servers.

This is the output from SmartFTP.

Try disabling PASV mode in your FTP client and try again.

Unable to FTP outside of PlusNet

I've tried this on all my computers and all of them suffer the same timeout problem. Therefore the fault must be with my router or PlusNet.

This seems to be a problem for quite a few people and there are a couple of threads already open regarding this One here and also in cgi and scripting

No, that's not my problem. I can open FTP connections to PlusNet's servers but I can't FTP to anywhere outside of PlusNet.

Try different MTU settings like 1478, 1458, 1430, 1400 etc in both windows and router as that can sometimes cause transfer problems.

Have you guys tried reconnecting, getting onto a different PN router and then giving it a go?
