USB modem for an ethernet modem, or can we improvise?

Hi

I have a binatone USB modem. I have recently purchased a linksys router/firewall which requires an Ethernet connection from the ADSL modem.

Are there any USB to Ethernet adapters, I know there are Ethernet to USB.

Is it possible to purchase/upgrade to an Ethernet modem from plus.net without changing your connection to a 1mb. If not, any recommendations for a cheap and good Ethernet ADSL modem?

Regards.

As you can buy a 4 port router and modem from ebay for under £40 and a one port for a lot less it wouldnt be any cheaper messing about trying to get these things to work.

Buy a 4 port rouer and sell your modem

It's not possible to connect your USB modem
to your ethernet router, the modem needs to be powered
from your pc it can't get this from the router, the adaptor your
thinking of won't work .
The D Link 300g+ sounds like an ideal modem to partner the
Linksys unit, I'd check for compatibilty issues before purchase and
upgrade firmware from D Link UK as soon as purchase.
You don't say what router you have is it a wireless or one of Linksys
top models or a basic one, the reason being you could get something
like a Netgear DG834 for a little more expense or Solwise 130
single port router for the same cost.
