Tweeking a DG834GT

I have a stable sync rate of 8meg so i get around 6meg off peak with an SNR of 15.5db and line attenuation of 22db downstream and i'm thinking i could possibly get more out of it.
I read that you can tweek a DG834GT and set your own SNR to improve your speeds.
would if be possible with those figures ?
has anyone done it and can give tips ?

If you are syncing at 8Mbs then there is nothing more you can do as that is the max sync rate. Your 6Mbs throughput is not effected by SNR so any 'tweaking' will have no effect.

The tweaking is really to set a higher min SNR so you sync at a lower rate to get a more stable connection. I.e. if your SNR was 6dB and you synced at sat 7Mbs, you would set the min to say 9dB so sync at say 6Mbs and get a more stable connection.

In any case others have tried tweaking but it does no stick and often makes no difference to the min SNR or sync speeds.

You might try experimenting with MTU to improve your throughput rates.

Tweeking a DG834GT

Don't forget that changing the RWIN value in windows can also make a difference.

I've got doctor TCP so i'll have a play around with the MTU and RWIN then.
