Tweak again

Following advice from a user on adslguide I did he following (I've previously tweaked twice in the last few days.)My results are almost identical to the other user.

My ADSL speed test approx 2 mins ago, came out at 63Kbps downstream.

However I've downloaded a program called DRtcp, from

www.dslreports.com/front/drtcp.html

Make the following alterations, using the program:

Tcp Recieve Window =14180
Dial Up (RAS) MTU = 1458
MTU = 1458

Now I've got 451Kbps downstream!

RE: Tweak again

This is well worth doing.
I have 2 machines connected via a router.
Both were slow.
Applied tweek to machine 1.
Bingo! Fast.
Tested Machine 2 again - still slow
Tweeked machine 2
Bingo! Fast.

I think that proves it Smiley

If you're not happy registry hacking, use DRTCP from www.dslreports.com.

Call me an old sceptic if you like, but I bet it slows down again when everyone's applied this change....
