Bear in mind that AOL use a different connection method / process / algorithm.

A friend of mine bought a router that was incompatible with AOL, so he went out and bought a second one... and it took me about two hours getting it to work using a tutorial on the internet that I found.

Listen that was a while ago that they had problems supporting routers.
Now they are just as good as PlusNet at supporting routers.
They only give technical support on for of them
You can use PPPoE or PPPoA with AOL Smiley
So is this router any good?

Humble pie time, it's only on AOL silver:

* Home networking is not available with AOL Broadband Silver.

Stephen, out of the routers they support all 4 lol; go for one of the Netgears, I have the DG834GT (which is a newer version of the DG834G); they have an excellent reputation and I'm sure mark will eat his hat if it doesn't work.

As for the speedtouch I don't know that much about it, but i'm googling to try and find out more...

It will work a dream - but then again I may be biased. Seriously the ST routers are fine - its bang up to date with ADSL2+ compatiblity.
