Switching to PlusNet question

A friend of mine wants to switch from Freeserve to PlusNet. How does that work? Will he have to pay the activation fee again? What about the packages that include the hardware? He doesn't need it..

Thanks.

Switching to PlusNet question

Hi,

Your friend should be able to migrate from Freeserve to ourselves. The fee is £35+VAT, we don't normally send out hardware with migrations so I'd recommend going for either ADSL Home or Home Surf (assuming it is Home 500).

Full details of migration are available in our FAQ. If you have any specific questions let us know.

Switching to PlusNet question

Freeserve have had a tendency to hold on to existing customers longer than they should (see several threads in this forum - search for freeserve) so you may need to pester them frequently if they do not progress and give you a migration date. You must contact them and explain you wish to migrate to PlusNet and keep asking until they give you the date. Until this date has been given, PlusNet cannot progress the transfer to themselves.

Expect a long wait.
