Speed test with FireFox 0.9.3

I've been doing some tweakage on my 2mb connection.

I've found that I get a good 10kb/sec less on plusnet's speedtest in Firefox than I do with IE. Is anybody else noticing this?

My ADSLGuide speedtests are rock solid at 230kb/sec (i never seem to acheive anything further) - My exchange is currently Amber, so I'm hoping for an extra speed boost when they add more VP's.

Most internet pages are written with IE in mind, I personally found firefox very slow and prefer opera.

If you want to do a speed test, use IE.

i tried with Firefox as well, but got exactly the same speed i get with IE, 234.4kbps from adslguide.

I don't think the broswer plays an important role in the test, since it is done using Java. i guess someone who knows how the speed test works, can tell us a bit more

Here is some info on speed checker Speed Checker Info

Please also see this link Speed Checker Topic

If Speed checker is a java applet, this would run within a virtual machine from within the browser. This would mean it subject to how the browers processes data, hence why you can get differences.
