Speed Explanation

Hi peeps wonder if anyone can explain the following..

MAXED 16/6

Previously on a 1mb connection - Dl speeds in the high 800s to low 900s

Maxed 16/6 synched at 2.6mb SNR 6.5 - PN speed test 1.9mb hurrah I thought.
All worked fine, went to work came back at 7pm and constant disconnections, in fact would not stay connected. Left it overnight and checked 1st thing next day. Interleaving now on and synching at 1.5 to 2.2mb but dl speeds only .98mb.

Should dl speeds be 1/2 or less of synch speed

Current stats Synch 2.272mb SNR 7.5 - dl .98mb

any thoughts would be welcome

a high quality filter and shielded cable will help you a bit

cable like this

and microfilter like this

should improve your stats, it dropped my attenuation by 10dB and raised SNR by 10-15dB back when i was on 2mbit, altho now i, like yourself am struggling

Synch speed is fine.. what I don't understand is why download speed is so much lower than synch speed.

Cheers for the info fella

Speed Explanation

During the period of disconnections BT may well have taken your lowest connection and set that as the maximum throuput it would allow,
It will now take 3 days or so of faster connections before BT will raise your throuput to match the present connection speed.
