Speed Drops to new levels

Hi,

Looking at your speed history your line resync'd around 288kbps around 14/04/2007 12:42:46. Does that time (give or take an hour or so) help?

If you run the BT Speedtest

http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/troubleshooting/bt_speed_tester.shtml

I would expect to see an IP Profile around 288kbps. So long as the line is now sync'd at a higher rate and stays sync'd higher than the IP profile will automatically increase within 3-5 days.

Speed Drops to new levels

Hi

I have done a BT speed test and got vertually what you said but nothing happened or changed so i am a bit confused as to why this has happened ? and you say it wont improve for 3- 5 days
I am not the brightest spark but what would cause this to change at BT and why will improve if i am still only getting 250kb

est1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
IP profile for your line is - 250 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 3328 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 199 kbps

Its just a matter of waiting until you sync at a higher rate

Speed Drops to new levels

For some reason yesterday lunchtime your line resync'd around 288kbps. It may not have done it for long and I don't know why it happened but that's the cause of the low IP profile (and thus low speedtest results).

I was hoping that the time might help to see why it may have resync'd

The way that Max works is that BT set a throughput rate limit (the IP profile in the speedtest) on the line which is based on the sync rate. If your sync speed decreases then the throughput rate goes down straight away (as happened here yesterday) but to go back up again the sync rate needs to be higher for at least 3-5 days.

Speed Drops to new levels

Seems to me that upgrading to 8mb is giving me more problems than i ever had before. If i went back to 2mb would it incur a charge ? or is it nor possible now ? Also could this re-sync problem still happen on 2mb ? Thanks for all the replies
