Sites unavailable

Hi,

My broadband was activated on Friday after migrating to plus.net. I can connect fine, but certain sites are un available. Blogger.com, Digg.com and a few others. They just time out and I get a "Site unavailable" error.

I could see them fine with wanadoo BB. I have gone through a proxy server and can see them so I know they are not down.

Can anyone tell me what is causing this?

Kind regards,
Simon Ward

Can you tell us which DNS servers you are connected to, if your using a usb modem then you can find this out by going to start and run and typing cmd then type nslookup blogger.com and paste the results you get.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm using a Mac, so I'm not sure if the results will be different.

NSLOOKUP retirns:

Server: 10.0.1.1

Address: 10.0.1.1#53

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: blogger.com
Address: 66.102.15.100

DIG returns:

 <<>> DiG 9.2.2 <<>> blogger.com

Check your DNS server setting;

http://portal.plus.net/support/member_features/at_a_glance.shtml

DNS – primary 212.159.13.49
DNS – secondary 212.159.13.50

Go to System preferences panel and select network panel.
Click on TCP/IP tab and enter under DNS Servers.

212.159.13.49
212.159.13.50
212.159.6.9
212.159.6.10

Thanks for all your help. As soon as I get back tonight I'll try these and let you know how they go.

Thanks again

Just an update on this.

I tried all of the above but to no avail. When the plus.net BB was activated, I had simply changed my username and password.

So I re-ran the setup wizard and created a new connection from scratch and it now works fine.

It appears the router was still using settings which it had automatically detected (DNS servers etc) from when I installed Wanadoo BB.

Thanks
