Share laptop with my Desktop ASDL connection?

Could you please advise what is involved in connecting my new laptop to this existing ASDL connection, and sharing the computers.

what connection equipment are you using at the moment? (router, pci modem, usb modem)
does your laptop have a network card?

usb modem, yes think i have network card but will check?

By far the best way to connect two or more computers to the internet via ADSL is to use a router.
They are available with 4 ports and act as both a modem and hub.
This allows any or all of you PC's to connect independantly.
See the ADSL guide for information on routers available and writeup's on them.

You will of couse need to have a network card in each of the PC's but these are quite cheap and using this system also gives you the advantage of a home network that allows you to exchange files etc between your PC's.
