Question for support re: modem dialup with an ADSL account

Support,

If I dialup using a modem or isdn using my ADSL account details, what IP address do I get?

The reason I ask, is some time ago, I did the very same and found that my dialup connection was given the same IP address as my DSL connection. Hence I had quite a few issues. I also have several IP addresses on my account, if the above is correct, which one would it use?

Kind regards
Gareth

Question for support re: modem dialup with an ADSL account

Hi Gareth,

Can I you ask you folks to post questions addressed to us in the Customer Feedback forum - I don't normally monitor this one as per the post at the very top of the page...

In short though, if you dial up with your username and password, you will get assigned your IP address, or IP block if you have one, regardless of the type of connection.

If you want to have a separate account for dialup on 0845 to be used while your DSL line is on-line, we normally advise people to register an additional free account and use the details from that to dialup.

Regards,

Ian
